Description

Mostar is a city in Bosnia and Hercegovina. Located on the banks of the river Neretva it is the cultural and economic centre of Hercegovina as well as the largest city in Hercegovina. Mostar was formed around “The Old Bridge” or Stari Most that was built in the year 1566. It is from that time and later on that many of the cultural sites in the city were built.
The Old Bridge is truly an architectural miracle of its time, today it dominates above the river Neretva at a height of twenty four meters, a width of four meters and a length of thirty meters. The arch of the bridge was made out of local stone, known as “Tenelija”
