[responsive-slider id=1154]
Description
Omis is a town in Croatia that is in the Split-Dalmatian County, a historical town that has existed since antiquity through to today. Rare are the towns that can boast about being populated for 2000 years, but surely there is a reason. The beautiful location in the canyon of the river Cetina, the local population have built their homes close to the sea side, for which they had a very good reason: Old Omiš-eans were in fact pirates! The city lives today as it did then, and Omis is known for extreme (adrenaline) sports such as rock climbing, ziplining and rafting.
Rafting on river Cetini
The most famous attraction that you can experience in Omis, is rafting on the river Cetina. Rafting lasts about 3-4 hours on a part of the river that is about 12km long. Beautiful nature and uninhabited landscapes will delight you, and the actual rafting is not very dangerous, so children ages 6 and up are more than welcome.
