Description
Plitvice Lakes National Park or often called Plitvice – Land of Falling Lakes is a forested area of central Dalmatia which consists of 16 lakes that are connected by numerous cascades and waterfalls. Plitvice National Park is one of the most beautiful national parks in Croatia and the world. Every year thousands of people visit the unique pearl of Croatia. Extensive forest complexes, exceptional natural beauties of lakes and waterfalls, richness of flora and fauna, mountain air, contrasts of autumn colors, forest paths and wooden bridges and much more are part of a unique whole that was declared a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site in 1979. the first in the world. The total area is 29,685 hectares, of which lakes make 200 ha, forests 13,320 ha, and the rest are grasslands and other areas.
